CHRISTIANS  MUST  VOTE

A couple of years ago I was asked this question; "Where does the Bible state that a Christian has to vote?"  Being caught off guard and stunned, the person walked away without an answer.  Since that encounter, I have dedicated a portion of my personal ministry to answering that very question.  The reality is, that this perplexing question is asked by many Christians who use this line of theological reasoning to justify many of their "worldly" habits.  For instance; "Where does the Bible say that I shouldn't"....... "smoke a cigarette," "drink one beer," "go to the bar," "play the lottery," "go to the casino," and the list goes on and on.  A Holy, Righteous Christian would never ask such questions, because most decisions we face should be answered with the attributes of being "Christ-Like"!  Do you really think that if Jesus were living today, He wouldn't do everything in His power to address the burning issues of our day?  Do you think He would have sat at home on voting day, while liberals re-elected Bill Clinton to a second term as President of the United States?  Better yet, do you believe that God is pleased that Evangelical Christians have been consistently one of the smallest percentage voting blocks in the nation for many, many years?  Pure reason answers those questions for us.  The Bible also doesn't tell us to brush our teeth, but we care for our "temple" in that manner several times every day!  After all, it is right after the famous Beatitudes in Matthew chapter 5, that Jesus Himself commands His followers to be "the Salt of the earth," and "the light of the world."  He goes on to explain that if we, as salt, lose our power, we are "good for nothing but to be cast out".  Also, He says for us to "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven".  Can you honestly say that Christians not voting, shows others our good works, and glorifies God?  I think not!  And why did Jesus command us to be like salt?  The answer lies in the two primary characteristics of salt, it PRESERVES, and it HEALS.  Yes, Jesus expects Christians to preserve His standards of Holiness and Righteousness in our society, and when those standards become neglected, He expects Christians to use our power and influence to heal the ills infecting our people!  Do you realize that studies show, that a clear majority of Americans profess to be Christians?  Since America's direction and agenda are controlled by our politicians, and our politicians are elected by receiving the most votes from Americans, we must realize the power we have if All Christians Would Vote!  If ALL Christians would go to the polls and cast their votes for Godly candidates, candidates that support the values of Faith, Family, and Freedom, we could change the course of America in just one voting cycle!  If Christians would vote OUT of office every liberal politician, and replace them with Godly men and women, we would once again be a God Fearing Nation!  This IS found in the Bible. Psalm 33:12 says, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD".  A Christian would not vote for a party just because their father and grandfather did.  A Christian would not vote for a candidate or party because of the condition of their wallet, but rather by what is supposed to be in their heart!  A true Christian would vote YES for God.  If you claim the title of Christian, then get out and Vote!
